Hey Crash-ers,
It’s a simple Rapid 5 this week. These are just a few things that I’ve found fascinating and challenging. As creatives, we are multifaceted. That’s probably what helps us to be creative. The layers of interest and the rabbit holes we go down for inspiration. I hope you find these links helpful for your art and even more so for your faith!
5 things worth sharing this week.
GOD IS A DESIGNER
I recently stumbled across this brand, “God is a designer.” It’s an apparel company founded in 2008 by Angel A. Acevedo, based in Miami, Florida. I really like their apparel designs and the overt pointing to God as a designer. They have shirts and hats for sale and a bunch of digital art for free download. I have their wallpaper on my laptop to remind myself that God is the one that all my designs replicate. Check out their “Vision Video” here.
KEEPER OF DAYS - JON GUERRA
I don’t know if you know of Jon Guerra, but his album called “Keeper of Days” has been on repeat for me this last little while. It’s folky and worshipful and thoughtful and moving and challenging. Give it a listen. You won’t regret it.
THE ART OF FORGIVENESS
I’ve been contemplating forgiveness lately. Both seeking forgiveness and forgiving others. After all, Christianity is based on God forgiving us… and us forgiving each other. To my surprise, the secular business world knows the power of forgiveness too. In this Forbes Magazine article, they encourage it. I like this quote from the article;
“Everyone makes mistakes. It’s part of being human, which is why we cannot expect the people in our life to always meet our expectations.”
THE ILLUSION OF MORAL DECLINE
Is the world on fire? Many would say it is… and it’s getting worse. But this doesn’t seem to align with the notion that God is in the process of restoring all things. Somehow despite the way it seems, He’s at work. So when I read this article called “The Illusion of Moral Decline,” I was intrigued. It’s a long read but interesting, to say the least.
THE CHALLENGE OF BECOMING CHRIST-LIKE
If you’re looking for something to listen to this week and you’re up for a challenge, then this may be for you!! Wayne Grudem is a New Testament scholar turned theologian, seminary professor, and author. If you’re not used to listening to this type of thing, it’ll be good for you!! 😉
