TWO IDEAS FROM RICH & CASS
CASS WRITES:
“Starting something new always comes with risk. But risk is often where the growth is and brings with it a stretch of faith, courage, and creativity. The new thing is less about certainty and more about stepping into possibility.”
RICH WRITES:
“When God does a new thing, it rarely looks like we expect.
Isaiah 43:19 reminds us: “See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it?”
New beginnings invite us to trust, both in God’s timing and His ways. They demand us not to limit Him by our inability to perceive that it’s actually God at work in the new.
If you find yourself in a new season this week, try exercising some creative imagination, and pray for clear vision and good perception.”
TWO SNIPPETS FROM OTHERS
This Brené Brown quote speaks to the heart of what it takes to take on the new!
“You can choose courage, or you can choose comfort, but you cannot choose both.”

Toxic positivity is not what theologian Jürgen Moltmann had in mind when he said…
“The antidote for despair is hope”

Instead, he was encouraging us to acknowledge the suffering and injustice we experience in the world. It’s only then that we can feel the true force of God’s promise to heal the world… and this creates great hope!
ONE SPARK OF INSPIRATION
This is a portion of “Garden of Earthly Delights” a triptych oil painting by Hieronymus Bosch. It’s disturbing, yet intriguing. The portion above shows the artists interpretation of what Hell might be like. Check out the whole painting and the story about what it means here.
Could it be that the new thing, God is calling you to create will disturb some and intrigue others? Maybe our creative endeavors have been too safe?
Grace and Peace,
Cass & Rich
