Hey Crashers,
It’s a week of ups and downs for us - we are headed to the USA on Wednesday and have a range of things planned. Doing a little consulting and coaching in some churches we love, seeing some friends (and meeting their long hoped-for babies), and allowing ourselves some moments to see what God is doing in and through his church. In it all, we are trying to create space for reflection and prayer, not just pace and speed. Easier said than done, right? So we have put together a few links in the Rapid 5 that hopefully help us to that end… and maybe you will enjoy them too. Have a great week out there!
Grace and Peace,

5 things worth sharing this week.
A winning combination and a little bit of solitude.
One of my favorite inspirational worship quotes (of all time) comes from John Ortberg - it says;
“I need to worship because without it I can forget that I have a Big God beside me and live in fear. I need to worship because without it I can forget his calling and begin to live in a spirit of self-preoccupation. I need to worship because without it I lose a sense of wonder and gratitude and plod through life with blinders on. I need worship because my natural tendency is toward self-reliance and stubborn independence.”
This week, he sat down on the “Rule of Life” podcast (which, incidentally, we have just started to do with our small group) and spoke with John Mark Comer about solitude. I think you will enjoy this one!
The Bible Recap hits the New Testament.
Okay, so all year, Rich and I have spent the first part of each morning with Tara-Leigh Cobble and “The Bible Recap.” It’s a reading plan on YouVersion and a podcast that accompanies the daily reading. From October 1, The Bible Recap begins the New Testament, and we would love to have you along for the ride. It’s pretty easy to get motivated daily when you know exactly where you are up to, and someone smarter than you helps you understand what you’re reading!!
Small Things by Bella Taylor Smith.
Recently, a friend of ours released a new song. It’s really beautiful and sweet, and I dare say the words will resonate with lots of people - thanks, Bella, for making music and inviting us into your head and heart spaces.
In case you missed it…
Chicken Piccata - yes, please!
Recently, I sat at Jenn Johnsons’ kitchen bench whilst she was cooking dinner for masses… and somehow, between Jenn and her sister, they cooked up a feast. I have since recreated it almost weekly because it tastes so good. Add a little spaghetti tossed in butter and sauteed asparagus, and you will be indebted to me (and Jenn, haha) forever… or at least for the 20 minutes it takes you to consume the dish.

Got to get a move on!
My friend David Ware is not just a Worship Leader and songwriter supreme, but also the greatest personal trainer that I have never had. I asked him where I should start - and this is what he sent back.
Along with the promise that if I do this 3 times a week, I will grow in strength and stamina and start to see differences. Posture, sleep, definition, breathing better. Movement and muscle exercise are hands down some of the best things anyone can do for health, physically and mentally. Want to join me?
So many good things ❤️
Thanks for the rapid 5!
Go well on your trip and may you have time to pause, reflect and listen amongst the busy schedule
