Why am I here? Surplus attention, and alien artwork
5 things worth sharing this week
TWO IDEAS FROM RICH & CASS
RICH WRITES:
“People often tell me they’re unhappy with where they find themselves in life.
They’re focused on where they are, and not about where they’re headed.
The question to ask is not “Why am I here?”, but “What direction am I headed?”
Take a small step toward Christ-likeness today, and over time you’ll become who you’re meant to be, and get where you’re meant to go!”
CASS WRITES:
“Gratitude is a stabiliser.
There’s a way to look through the lens of thanksgiving in order to keep your heart sweet, which changes your perspective and helps everything. Gratitude, like joy, is a choice.”
TWO SNIPPETS FROM OTHERS
Sobering, but true from Rich Villodas…
“As long as we remain enslaved to a culture of speed, superficiality, and distraction, we will not be the people God longs for us to be.”

“To achieve creativity in an existing domain, there must be surplus attention available.”

ONE SPARK OF INSPIRATION
How cool is that photo!?
Did you hear about the Utah Monolith in 2020?
Apparently it was installed in San Juan County, Utah sometime between July and October 2016 but wasn’t discovered until 2020.
Turns out it wasn’t put there by an alien…. it was a piece of art.
When you do something interesting, people will discover it, ask questions about it, and perhaps even make up stories to explain it. What they won’t do is ignore it!!
Let us know you’re with us - hit the ❤️ … or share your response to your favourite point from this weeks R5 in the comments…
Grace and Peace,
Rich & Cass
