It’s Spring here in Australia. Winter is fading, and new growth is starting to appear. It reminds us of the seasons of life, when “winter” finally comes to an end and starts to thaw, and you can sense God is leading you into something new, although you may not know what it is.
That’s how we feel right now, especially with our night of worship coming up this weekend. We’ve got a “spring” in our step. Who knows where God could be leading us. It’s so exciting!
How about you?
With Summer over in many parts of the world, this time of year is like a reset. A time to revisit goals you had in January. There’s still time to sweep out the cobwebs of some bad habits that may have crept in.
Maybe it’s time for a Spring clean in your spiritual life or your worship and creative endeavours. Or maybe you just need a plain old detox! (We’ve been fasting coffee lately as a way to help us pray with clarity… it’s been tough in the mornings, but well worth doing!!)
So with all that in mind - here’s this week’s Rapid 5!
Grace and peace,
Rich and Cass
5 things worth sharing this week.
What does it look like to reflect the creator?
Meet Leanne Thomas - a Sydney-based artist known for her incredible floral oil paintings. She has a desire to express her love of nature, classical art and beauty. Ultimately, Leanne is committed to creating art that exudes light, life and hope in a way that might resonate with every viewer.
If you are overseas, tour her work virtually here. But if you are a Sydney local, then mark your diary with the dates of her Upcoming Exhibition. You can get more details here.
Change takes action!
We’ve been working on a few tweaks to the format of the Rapid 5 for the Spring. We’re planning to focus on 5 major themes: To inspire you, To motivate you, To encourage you, To feed you, and To stretch you.
We hope this small change motivates you to make changes of your own. Let us know if you love this change to the format… and what you’re going to tweak in your own life.
Oh, and a special shout-out and thanks to Gillian Stander for taking action and being the first to hit our sharing leaderboard!! See if you can beat her record in sharing this week (we’d really appreciate it)!
Take 2 minutes and let this encourage you!
Today a friend sent us a clip from another friend of ours, Christa Smith. She’s a bold woman of God. We’re sure you’ll agree she’s passionate. Let her passion put fire in your soul today!
Sometimes, you don’t know what’s really going on. You’re living life thinking one thing is happening, and really, something else is at play. Sometimes it’s for the worst. Other times, it’s for the better! But either way, it highlights our need for total dependency on God. Read more on our experience of this in “A tale of two foyers.”
Do you have that hunger for God?
It’s a challenging question.
John Piper throws the challenge at us when he writes, “If we don’t feel strong desires for the manifestation of the glory of God, it is not because you have drunk deeply and are satisfied. It is because we have nibbled so long at the table of the world. Our soul is stuffed with small things, and there is no room for the great.”
You can watch an intro to the book here. Or, get the book here.
We invite you to stretch your faith.
Each week, The Hopeful Rhino Journals seek to stretch your personal devotion, faith, creativity and leadership. This Aussie Spring reset season, we’re inviting you to support our work (because we can’t do it without you) and invest in your future with a 50% off for-life special!
