Hey Crashers,
It feels like sickness is prevailing at Camp Langton. We managed to overcome the Uganda Bellie only to be greeted by an onslaught of Influenza A. But you know what they say—when life serves you lemons, make lemonade. So this week's journal is about contagious creativity. I think it’s a fun thought, and I hope it sparks some infectious inspiration wherever you are reading from today.
Grace and Peace,
Rich & Cass

Question of the week…
Creative Contagion
Lessons from Influenza A.
At the end of the service, sunlight streamed through the glass windows in the sandstone church on the edge of Sydney Harbour. The stillness in the building was punctuated with coughing to my right. “Poor guy,” I thought. “Winter lurgies.” We shared a laugh and a brief conversation before heading out the door into the weak sunshine. As the day progressed, it seemed we hadn’t left the cough behind in the chapel but had carried it home. Little did I know that our seemingly innocent Sunday morning routine would soon become a battle with influenza A. It crept up on Cass slowly throughout the day, like a stealthy predator, until she struggled to breathe. Sickness hit her like a ton of bricks. Vicks vapor drop graced our bedside table. Birthday celebrations were postponed for a week. Her abs felt like they had been subjected to an intense workout, and she was uncomfortable everywhere.
Amid Cass's coughing fits and feverish nights across the week, I began to feel a tickle in my throat. Cold. Hot. Sweaty. And it became clear she’d infected me. Her contagion had rubbed off on me.
