Hey Crashers,
In last week’s Rapid 5, I learned that there are rules that improv actors stick to. At least the good ones, anyway. That newly found fact sent me down a rabbit warren this week, and today’s edition is the result. It’s a mix of thoughts and links about improv, humor, and jazz to encourage you to think about your own levels of comfort and engagement with humor and improvisation as a tool! This will make the most sense if you read the Rhino Journal from last week. Either way, I hope this edition gives you some joy and maybe a chuckle or two!!
Grace and Peace,
Rich & Cass
In today’s issue:

I find most Christian comedians just aren’t that funny. But this guy, Jonnie W. has been redeeming the genre for me lately. It makes me think there’s room to expand our thinking when creatively sharing the joy of the Lord! (LINK)
The Promised Land is a new series based on the life of Moses. It’s a comedy in the style of “The Office.” It’s a great example of improvising the way we convey the truth of the Bible without making light of it. (LINK)

In this week's Rhino Journal, below, we explore the rules of improv. Who knew there were rules? Tina Few, I guess. Check out this excerpt from her book. (LINK)
Technically, I know this is not a link, but the meme below is on topic, so I felt it was worth sharing.

We always read each other's articles before they're sent, but something happened when I re-read that one and again looked through the Rapid 5.
