Hey Crashers,
Vince Lombardi is quoted as saying: -
"Perfection is not attainable, but if we chase perfection we can catch excellence."
Whilst Jean Anouilh says:-
“Beauty is one of the rare things which does not lead to doubt of God.”
I’ve been wondering lately if, in our quest for excellence in the church, we have forsaken beauty. In our quest for excellence, is the standard too high? Could excellence be causing burnout?
Today in the Rhino Journals (below the line), I start a 2 part series looking at these questions… (and the free Rapid 5 will have supporting links). I encourage you to sign up for the journals and wrestle the question through with us over the coming weeks.
I would love to hear your thoughts on how you perceive this and where you are landing in your craft, in service of God, and within your creative community. Are beauty and excellence mutually exclusive, or do they work well together?
Grace and Peace,
Rich & Cass
