Hey Crashers,
It’s been a week of rethinking our calendar. I’m writing about it in this week's Rhino Journals - I believe it will help you as much as it is helping us. So if you’re not a member, I encourage you to join us and take your life back, one moment at a time.
This Rapid 5 reflects that same idea - that we need to be more intentional with our calendar and the moments in each day - for the good of our souls and those that matter most around us.
Grace and Peace,
Rich & Cass

5 things worth sharing this week.
Create margin in the mess.
The Pause App invites you into the simple practice of taking a pause to release everything to God, restore your union with God, and invite him to fill you. It’s a perfect replacement for social media in those in-between times during your day. Get it here.
You’re not alone!
Sometimes in Church, as creatives, we feel we’re the only ones who work hard and give all our time and energy to the task at hand. Turns out, according to the WeTransfer 2022 survey, it’s an industry-wide problem. The prevailing insight here is that learning to say, “no” to some projects will be one key to ensuring longevity as a creative. The report is well worth a quick read - and to chat through with those you serve/work alongside, or to pass on to your leadership for consideration. Get it here.
Getting the balance right.
I found this episode of Wade Joye’s podcast (Dreamers and Disciples) really encouraging. I don’t know Ps Shawn Wood personally, but he’s been working through some of the same ideas that I have - mainly the balance between excellence (and all the work that comes with it) versus pure devotion (with the apparent lack of bells and whistles). Is there a way to be excellent but not drive yourself and everyone else into the ground? I believe there is. Get the audio version here.
In case you missed it…
How emotionally healthy are you?
“The degree to which we are willing to give Jesus access to what is deeply beneath the surface of our lives, is the degree to which we will experience freedom in Him.” - Pete Scazzero
If your answer to that question is, “I don’t know,” you’re not alone. Most people I’ve encountered have never thought about it. Instead, we drift through life hoping that our spirituality will be healthy and mature, while our emotional maturity is lacking. As the author Pete Scazzero says, “It’s impossible!” To change that, get the book here.
Do any of these 👆 represent where you’re at?
If so, you may be experiencing creative burnout. It’s not something we like to talk about, and it’s more common than we like to admit. Here’s an article to help you identify it and some strategies for how to move forward. I hope it helps!
This topic has been at the front of my mind in this current season. It would be nice is somebody else could figure this out for my life and then tell me what to do. Like so much of life, it requires a level of intentionality that I have lost sight of. Thanks for the reminder to question how I spend my time.
