A More Creative Way in May: All You Need to Know
April brought fresh momentum - honest conversations, new rhythms, and a growing sense that we’re building something sacred together.
So with that in mind, here’s something new - a look back at April, and a look forward to all that’s ahead in May. We pulled this together with you in mind!

Note of the Month
Rich asked this question and got some interesting and helpful responses. Have you got thoughts? We’d love the conversation to continue.
April Learnings
Every month, we learn something new about the intersection of faith and creativity. Talking to friends regularly is yielding some great insights. Here are a few takeaways from April we hope you didn't miss…
1. You have to revisit the old to become new
When Glenn Packiam gave us a copy of “What is a Christian, Anyway?” (and Rich read it cover to cover 😊), we knew we had to have him come share his wisdom with you all. So many of you have expressed some of the challenges he addresses. Watch the video (or get the book) because he’s pointing to ancient wisdom, not just the latest pop-psychology.
2. There’s a way through the worst of times
No one likes toxic positivity. It feels right to say that we’re all after real and relatable. When Matt Redman opened up about their journey with miscarriage, heartache and grief, and how worship and writing songs helped them through, all of a sudden his song 10,000 Reasons hit harder. Living with a creative faith has a purpose, especially in the hard times!
3. God is closer than you think
This month, a few of you reached out about an old message Cass preached called “Thin Places”. (Writing in response to requests is really fun… Keep them coming!) The encouragement is to remember that God is close, not distant, and we can cultivate those places where He is most near. In fact, He loves it when we do!
May Plans: This month, we’re going deeper!
Now, let's talk about what's coming in May - we’re really looking forward to all that’s coming up!
🔥 The 7-Day Rhythm Reset Devotional
We’ve created a super-simple 7-day devotional for anyone who needs a ‘reset’ on the rhythm of daily time with God. If you’ve struggled to get into the groove of Bible reading, prayer, and listening to the Holy Spirit's voice, this will definitely help! It includes a scripture, reflection and practice for each day. And it’s free to all subscribers, so pick it up and feel free to share with friends.
🎙️ New Experiment: The Monday Motivator
This month, we'll be sending out the Monday Motivator - the one thing you need to know at the start of the week - straight to your inbox when you need it most: Monday! (We use this term loosely… because we know you all live across the world, and Mondays are definitely subjective. 🤣)
📝 New Content: What’s Coming Your Way?
This month, we’re expanding. We’ve noticed you’re looking for more! We’re listening, and so each week in May, we'll be releasing inspirational posts, how-to’s, and in-depth guides to living a more creative faith life. We’ll be covering:
Confused by Scripture? Don’t Rip Those Pages Out, Use This Instead
Choosing Joy Might Be the Most Rebellious Thing You Do Today
Gospel vs. Grind: How Jay Argaet Found His Voice in a Loud World
When You’re Spiritually Disoriented, Try This
Water Diviners: A Forgotten Metaphor That Might Save Your Soul
Holy Hunches, God Nudges & Spiritual Sparks
How to Stay Creative Without Losing Your Soul With Filmmaker Salomon Ligthelm
We’re trying our hardest to provide real, tangible help. We’ll be answering actual faith, creativity and formation questions and providing solid steps and tools. Don’t miss any of it!
A Personal Note…
It doesn’t matter where we’ve gone this week - the supermarket, on Instagram, coffee with friends, or even church - the reality of life is hitting hard. There’s suicide, divorce, disappointment, mental illness, addiction, and trauma amongst our Christian friends. And a real lack of clarity and direction is haunting those we love. It’s been painful.
Wider than that, people seem to be leaving the church in droves. Creatives are opting out, burned out, strung out or anxietyed out (is that even a word?!!!). We don't want to perpetuate a problem but be part of the solution… so here we are, welcome to May.
This may be (see what we did there 😉) a month for building or rebuilding more robust foundations, pondering more, and charting a more creative way together to navigate the intersection of faith and creativity.
When the Apostle John writes Revelation and encourages people to “hear what the Spirit is saying to the Church”, we get the sense the Lord is continuing to whisper those words, this time to you and us. The Spirit is drawing us back to our first love. He wants to settle our hearts, reignite our faith and take us deeper into the things that really matter most. We hope you’ll join us, because it’s only with company that any of us can truly grow closer to Christ.
Grace and Peace,
Cass and Rich
